"Little Maggie" is a popular Appalachian song and breakdown that has been absorbed into core bluegrass repertory from its old-time roots, whose lyrics belong to the "Darling Corey /Country Blues/Hustling Gambler" family of songs, although the melody differs. It was recorded by Wade Mainer, Zeke Morris & Steve Ledford (1937), Tommy Jarrell on Come and Go With Me (1974), New Lost City Ramblers on 20 Years/Concert Performances (1978), Tom Morgan on Bluegrass with Family and Friends (1983), Ernest East, Lawrence Lowe, Fred Cockerham on Visits (1981), The Stanley Brothers, Grayson & Whitter (1928), The Kingston Trio and others. I learned it from the Kingston Trio recording.
