"Mitt hjerte alltid vanker" ("My Heart Always Wanders") is an old Scandinavian
Christmas song. The original Danish lyrics for "Mit hjerte altid vanker"
(Danish title) were written by bishop and hymn writer Hans Adolph Brorson.
These were later set to a melody composed by Carl Nielsen. It first came out
in print in 1731.
There is a beautiful recording by Øystein Sevåg and Maria C. Meyer on the Windham Hill collection A Winter's Solstice V, titled "My Heart is Always Moving". I arranged this for bell choir in 2008. |
