"Gin Ye Kiss My Wife I'll Tell the Minister" is a Scottish pastoral air in 4/4 time in the key of A Minor. It is often described as a "very old air". This was the original tune for the Sean Trews/Triubhas, an ancient Highland dance in which the dancers wear tartan trousers rather than the sporran and kilt.
It was printed in Hardie's Caledonian Companion (1992), Skinner's Harp and Claymore (1904) and Skinner's The Scottish Violinist.
It was recorded by Abby Newton on Crossing to Scotland (1997) and Maggie Sansone with Ensemble Galilei on Music in the Great Hall (1992).
