"Barrack Hill" (in Gaelic, Cnoc an t-Sluaigteac), also known as "Glen Cottage Slide",
"John Dan Neill's Jig", "Port Sheáin Dan Nell" and "The Tanglony" is an Irish, English
single jig or slide (12/8 time) in A Dorian.
The 12/8 and 2/4 versions of the melody are known as "The Haughs of Cromdale",
"O'Neill's March" and "Tralee Gaol".
It sounds a bit like "The Rocky Road to Dublin".
It was printed in Karpeles & Schofield's A Selection of 100 English Folk Dance Airs (1951),
Moylan's Johnny O'Leary of Sliabh Luachra (1994), O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland: 1001
Gems (1907), Raven's English Country Dance Tunes (1984), Roche's Collection of Traditional
Irish Music, vol. 2 (1912), Sharp's Country Dance Tunes (1909).
