"Bobby Shaftoe" is an English sword dance (cut time) in G Major.
It is the first figure in the sword dance from the area of Sleights, England.
In an article published in 1933, Violet Alford noted the dancers used 'Bobby Shaftoe' when she first encountered the horn dance.
It was printed in Andrew Bullen's Country Dance and Song (May 1987, vol. 17), Karpeles & Schofield's A Selection of 100 English Folk Dance Airs (1951) and Raven's English Country Dance Tunes (1984).
