"The Drunken Sailor Hornpipe", in Gaelic ("Mairnealac Meisceamail"), also known as<br> "The Groves" is an Irish hornpipe in G Dorian (Vallely, Philips) or A Dorian.<br> The parts are played AABB (Phillips), AABBCCDDEE (O'Neill, Vallely).<br> It is perhaps slightly more common in the tradition in the key of G Minor.<br> It is related "Johnny Cope".<br> It was printed in O'Neill's O'Neill's Irish Music (1915),<br> O'Neill's's Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems (1907),<br> Phillips' Fiddlecase Tunebook: British Isles (1989) and<br> Vallely's Learn to Play the Fiddle with Armagh Pipers Club (1990).<br> It was recorded Jimmy Powers,<br> Paddy Cronin on Kerry's Own Paddy Cronin (1977),<br> Tommy Potts on The Liffey Banks (1972) and<br> Paddy Glackin & Jolyon Jackson on Hidden Ground (1980) (a six-part version).<br>
