"Ellen O'Grady", in Gaelic "Eiblin Ní Grada" is an Irish slip jig 9/8 time in
A Mixolydian. The parts are played AAB or AABB.
The tune appears as an untitled slip jig in the mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork uilleann piper and Church of Ireland cleric James Goodman. Slip jigs are often circular. I have added an ending that concludes on the tonic. It was printed in O'Neill's Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies (1903) and Bancalafri's Celtic Encyclopedia, Mandolin Edition (1999). |
