"Farrell O'Gara's Favorite Reel", also known as "Last Night in Leadville", "Last<br> Night's Fun", "The Lasses" (Cape Breton), "Macroom Lasses", "Old Joe Sife's", "Stick<br> it in the Ashes" or "Farrell O'Gara Schottische" is an Irish reel or schottische<br> in A Major. The parts are played AABB.<br> This is not the<br> "Farrell O'Gara"<br> reel famously recorded by Sligo fiddler Michael Coleman (1891-1945)<br> in 1927 in New York, but rather the first tune in his "Killarney Wonder" set<br> (recorded 1924), where it is called "Farrell O'Gara Schottische".<br> The melody has currency among Cape Breton fiddlers under several titles.<br> It appears in Kerr's Merry Melodies, vol. 2 (c. 1880's), as "Last Night's Fun".<br> It was printed in Cole's 1000 Fiddle Tunes (1940),<br> Miller & Perron's Irish Traditional Fiddle Music (2006) and<br> Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883).<br> It was recorded by Kevin Burke on Sweeney's Dream (1977).<br>
