"The Handsome Ploughboy", in Gaelic "An treabaide boideac" or "Giolla ceacta maiseac", also known as "The Ploughboy" is an Irish hornpipe in A Major. The parts are played AABB. It is printed in O'Neill's Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies (1903), O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems (1907), Krassen's edition of O'Neill (1976), Williamson's English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish Fiddle Tunes (1976) (as "The Ploughboy"). Williamson includes this in the English tunes section even though it is Irish.
