"The Hunter's Purse", in Gaelic "An Sceach", also known as "Bridie Morley's", "The Old Bush", "The Five Leaved Clover", "Five Leaf Clover", "The Hawthorn", "The Haymaker Reel", "The Heel of the Hunt", "The Indian on the Rock", "My Love is but a Lassie Yet" or "The Thornbush" is an Irish reel in A Dorian. The parts are played AABB. Mixolydian versions also are played. A version of this tune is in the music manuscript collection of the Gunn family (County Fermanagh, 1865), under the title "Hetty's Wishes". County Sligo fiddler Paddy Killoran recorded the tune on 78RPM, under the title "Hunter's Purse", the name by which it is usually now called, although other titles seem to have predated it. It was printed in Brody's Fiddler's Fakebook (1983), Cranford's Jerry Holland: The Second Collection (2000), Harker's 300 Tunes from Mike Rafferty (2005), Mallinson's 100 Essential (1995), Miller & Perron's Irish Traditional Fiddle Music (1977), Miller & Perron's Irish Traditional Fiddle Music, 2nd Edition (2006) and McNulty's Dance Music of Ireland (1965). It was recorded by The Chieftains on Chieftains 3 (1971), Jack Wade on Ceili Music From Ireland, Kevin Burke on If the Cap Fits (1978) and The Arm and Hammer String Band on New England Contra Dance Music (1978).
