"Johnny's Gone to France", also known as "Paddy's Gone to France" or "The Old
Maids of Galway" is an Irish (sometimes attributed to England or New England)
reel in E Minor. The parts are played AABB.
The tune is a version of John McKenna's "The Maids of Galway".
It is more distantly related to the "Ballina Lass" tune family.
It was printed in Brody's Fiddler's Fakebook (1983),
Kennedy's Fiddler's Tune Book, vol. 2 (1954) and
Raven's English Country Dance Tunes (1984).
It was recorded by Dudley Laufman on Swinging on a Gate (1974).
