"Kesh Jig" is also known as "The Castle Jig", "Kerrigan's Jig", "Kerrigan's Fancy", "Kincora Jig" and "Tear the Callies" is an Irish double jig in 6/8 time G Major. The parts are played AABB (most versions) or AA'BB' (Miller & Perron). The first printed version appears to be in George Petrie's 1850's collection under the title "Tear the Callies". It is very popular in Irish sessions since it was popularized under the "Kesh" title by the Bothy Band. It was printed sources in Brody's Fiddler's Fake Book (1983), Johnson's The Kitchen Musician No. 6: Jigs (1982), Mac Amhlaoibh & Durham's An Pota Stóir: Ceol Seite Corca Duibne/The Set Dance Music of West Kerry (appears as "Port Pat Coclain"), Mallinson's 100 Essential (1995), Miller & Perron's Irish Traditional Fiddle Music, 2nd Edition (2006), Reiner's Anthology of Fiddle Styles (1979), Songer's Portland Collection (1997) and Tubridy's Irish Traditional Music, vol. 1 (1999). It was recorded by The Bothy Band on The Bothy Band (1975) The Bothy Band on Afterhours, The Boys of the Lough on Live at Passim (appears as "Kincora Jig"), Frank Ferrel and Graham Townsend on Fiddle Tunes and Sean McGuire on Ireland's Champion Traditional Fiddler. I learned it from some Irish group but I can't remember which one.
