"The Mooncoin Jig", also known as "Port Móin Choinn", "Port Muin-Cuine" or
"Port Muine Coinin" is an Irish double jig in A Mixolydian in three parts.
Mooncoin or Mooncoyne, is a town in County Kilkenny in the southeast of
Ireland, an area famous in the 19th century and the early 20th century
for its pipers.
It was printed in O'Neill's Irish Music (1915), O'Neill's Music of
Ireland: 1850 Melodies (1903) and O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland: 1001
Gems (1907).
This jig was recorded by Steeleye Span on the album Now We Are Six.
