"The Morning Dew", in Gaelic "Giorria sa bhFraoch", also known as "The Hare Among the Heather" or "The Hare in the Heather" is an Irish reel in E Dorian. The parts are played ABC (Breathnach, Miller, O'Malley), AABC (Mallinson, Taylor), AA'BC (Feldman & O'Doherty), ABCC (Brody) or AABBCC (McNulty).
"The Morning Dew" has been one of the more popular reels in recent decades. It was printed by James Kerr in Scotland as "The Hare Among the Heather" in the 1880's and it was recorded under that title by Margret Barry and County Sligo fiddler Michael Gorman in 1956.
"Morrison's Jig" is a related 6/8 time setting of the melody.
