"Old Hag, You Have Killed Me", in Gaelic "A chailleach do mharaís mé", also known as "Oh! Hag You Have Killed Me" or "Stop old hag or you’ll kill me" is an Irish double jig in 6/8 time and D Mixolydian. The parts are played AABB. George Petrie's similarly-titled "Hag you've killed me" is a melodically different melody but shares some of rhythmic and motif characteristics. A hag is a wizened old woman or a type of fairy or goddess having the appearance of such a woman often found in folklore. A hag is sometimes called the Loathly Lady in folktales and ballads in which the hag appears as a hideously ugly creature but reverts to a beautiful female form when the hero treats her well or carries out her wishes. Hags appear in the ballads "Allison Gross" and "King Henry" in the English/Other Songs section. It was printed in Taylor's Music for the Sets: Blue Book (1995). It was recorded by The Bothy Band on Old Hag You Have Killed Me (1981), Willie Clancy on The Pipering of Willie Clancy.
