"The Old Woman Tossed Up in a Blanket", in Gaelic "An Swanbean Caitgte Suas Annsa Suisin", also known as "There was an Old Woman Toss’d up in a Blanket" is an Irish jig in A Major. The parts are played AABB. It is related to the morris dance tune of the same name. The earliest Irish printing is in R.M. Levey's Dance Music of Ireland (London, 1858). It was also printed in P.M. Haverty's One Hundred Irish Airs vol. 2 (1859), Levey's First Collection of the Dance Music of Ireland (1858), Krassen's O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1976), O'Neill's Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies (1903). It was recorded by Alasdair Fraser & Jody Stecher on The Driven Bow (1988).
