He returned to Derry to live in<br> 1995.<br> "The Poet Carney" was named for a friend.<br> It was printed in Alewine's Maid that Cut Off the Chicken’s Lips (1987).<br> It was recorded by Máire O'Keeffe on Cóisir/House Party (1994) and<br> Mick Moloney and Eugene O'Donnell on "Mick Moloney with Eugene O'Donnell" (1978).<br>
