"The Pride of Moyvane" is an Irish reel in D Dorian. The parts are played AABB (Black)
or AABB' (Alewine).
Moyvane, north County Kerry near the border with Limerick, was the near the
home town of fiddler Martin Mulvihill (1919-1987) in Ballygoughlin, County Limerick.
Mulvihill was the composer (c. 1971) of the tune.
It was printed in Alewine's Maid That Cut Off the Chicken’s Lips (1987) and
Black's Music’s the Very Best Thing (1996).
It was recorded by Martin Mulvihill on Traditional Irish Fiddling from County
Limerick (1978),
Mick Maloney and Eugene O'Donnell on Mick Moloney with Eugene O'Donnell (1978) and
Eileen Ivers on Traditional Irish Music (1994).
