"The Sport of the Chase", in Gaelic "Ceol na seilge", also known as<br> "Joys of the Chase" or "New Claret" is an Irish slip jig in 9/8 time and G Major.<br> The parts are played AABB (Phillips) or AAB (Kennedy, Roche).<br> "Sport of the Chase" is an Irish variant of mid-18th century Scottish fiddler,<br> composer and dancing master David Young's tune "New Claret".<br> It was printed in Bulmer & Sharpley's Music from Ireland, vol. 1 (1974),<br> Kennedy's Fiddler’s Tune-Book: Slip Jigs and Waltzes (1999),<br> Phillips' Fiddlecase Tune Book (1989),<br> Roche's Collection of Traditional Irish Music, vol. 3 (1927).<br> It was recorded by Seán Ryan on Cliaraí Ceoil - Minstrel’s Fancy (1994),<br> Ceoltoiri on Silver Apples Of The Moon (1992),<br> Irish Ceili Band on 50 Irish & Celtic Favorites (2017),<br> Fairport Convention on Full House (1970) and others.<br>
