"The Temperance Reel", also known as "The Teetotaler's Reel",
"The Bowl Of Coffee", "O'Connell's Welcome to Clare", "Kingsport", “Oh My Foot”,
"The Road To Newbridge", "The Teatotaler’s Fancy" and "The Teatotaler" is an
Irish, American; Reel in cut or 2/4 time and G Major ('A' part) & E Minor
('B' part). The parts are played AB (O'Neill) or AABB (most versions).
An early version of the tune with the “Teetotaler’s Reel” title appears in the
mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork uilleann piper and
Church of Ireland cleric James Goodman (musicologist).
It was printed in The Devil's Box, vol. 23, Summer 1989,
