"The Barrowburn Reel ", also known as "Barrow Burn Reel" or "Barrowburn" is a Scottish<br> reel in D Major. It is a modern composition by fiddler, bandleader and composer<br> Addie Harper of Wick, Scotland. 'Burn' is a Scots word for stream.<br> This is often mistaken for a traditional tune instead of a modern composition.<br> It was printed in Martin's Ceol na Fidhle, vol. 3 (1988), Miller's Fiddler's Throne (2004) and<br> Taylor's Where's the Crack? (1989). <br> It was recorded by Cape Cod Fiddlers on Concert Collection II (1999), Alasdair Fraser &<br> Natalie Haas on Fire and Grace (2004), Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham on The Pearl (1994),<br> Sharon Shannon on The Best of Sharon Shannon: Spellbound (1999).
