Roger Watson is the author of many songs about goings-on in his native Derbyshire. "Salvation Band" was one of his earliest; he was raised as a Salvationist and his father played trombone in the band. I learned it from John Roberts and Tony Barrand on their album Mellow With Ale From The Horn.
