"Stella's Trip to Kamloops" is a Canadian march in cut time and A Major. The parts are played AABC. It is often written with a number of ornamental notes that I have omitted for calarity. It looks very much like a strathspey but it is actually a march.
Kamloops is a city in south-central British Columbia, Canada, at the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers. The city was incorporated in 1893 with about 500 residents.
The tune was composed by pianist and composer Patricia Chafe-Nagy, the daughter of famed Cape Breton fiddler, Winnie Chafe.
It was printed in Cranford's Jerry Holland’s Collection (1995) and Perlman's The Fiddle Music of Prince Edward Island (1996).
It was recorded by Winne Chafe & Patricia Chafe-Nagy on Echoes (1988).
