"Devilish Mary" is a comic American song. It was recorded by Roba Stanley (1924), The Skillet Lickers, Burl Ives, The Beers Family, Pete Seeger, Odetta and maybe others. I learned this from the Beers Family album Introducing the Beers Family in 1965. They used the nonsense sylable chorus.
