"George Collins" is a version of Child #85, also known as "Clerk Colven". It appears in Cecil Sharp's English Folk Songs from the Southern Appalachians with a different melody. Verses five and six appear in a number of lost lover songs like More Pretty Girls Than One and The Storms are On the Ocean. It was recorded by A.L. Lloyd, Bob Copper, Hedy West, Louis Killen, Jean Redpath, Roy Harvey and the North Carolina Ramblers and the New Lost City Ramblers.
