"Lily of the West" is an American version of an old Irish ballad in the jealous lover tradition. This is very much like Wild Bill Jones, also in this section. I learned it from Joan Baez's second album. It has also been recorded by The Chieftains (first with Mark Knopfler, later with Rosanne Cash), Bert Jansch and Peter, Paul and Mary.
