"Green Bushes" is the same melody as "The Cutty Wren" and was used by Ralph Vaughan Williams, along with "My Bonny Boy" in the Intermezzo movement of The English Folksong Suite. The story is similar to some other "Trooper and the Maid" songs like "The Nightingales Sing" and "The Wild Rippling Waters".
