"Bellman's Jig" is a Swedish air or jig in G Major. The parts are played AABB.
This 6/8 air is the composition of Swedish composer Karl Michel Bellman (1740-1795),
a noted writer of tunes and songs, whose patron was King Gustav III.
Since its appearance in Ralph Sweet's Fifer's Delight it has gained some currency as a jig for
contra or English country dancing in New England.
It was printed in Sweet's Fifer's Delight (1964) and appears on the San Diego Contra Dance
website (https://sandiegocontra.org/sheet-music/BellmansJig.pdf).
