"Billy in the Lowland (4)", also known as "Billy in the Lowground", "Calico Billy in the
Lowland" or "The Fiddler's Drunk and the Fun's All Over" is an American reel in cut time.
There are many variations played in C major. This version in A major is usually played in
"Calico" fiddle tuning AEAC# or AEAE for players who only want to retune two strings.
The banjo tablature is by John Letscher who picked it up at one of the central Pennsylvania
jams.
It was printed in
Lamancusa's The Gettysburg Collection of Old-Time Fiddle Tunes (2021).
It was recorded by Tricia Spencer on Fiddlin' Like There's No Tomorrow, Vol. 2 (2012) and
Jason & Pharis Romero and Friends on Back Up and Push (2010).
