"Campbell's Farewell To Red Gap", also known as "Steph's Reel" or "Campbell's Farewell to Redcastle"
is an American reel in A Mixolydian. The parts are played AABCC.
The tune is a setting of the Scottish march "Campbell's Farewell to Redcastle".
The banjo tablature is by John Letscher. His comments:
Many players. This goes back to the hey day of the Carpal Tunnel Stringband, a
little known but very entusiastic trio from Mystic Music.
It was printed in Brody's Fiddler's Fakebook (1983).
It was recorded by Bruce Hutton on Old Time Music, Its All Around (1978),
John McCutecheon on The Wind That Shakes the Barley (1977) and
Kenny Hall on Kenny Hall (1974).
