"Dusty Miller" is an American reel in 4/4 time and A Mixolydian. The parts are played AABB.
The source for this version is J. P. Fraley of Rush, Kentucky, d. 2011.
He said his father had a flour mill and thus he perhaps had an affinity for the tune.
This reel is not the same tune as the "Dusty Miller" which is an Irish slip-jig.
It was printed sources in Brody's Fiddler's Fakebook (1983),
Milliner & Koken's Milliner-Koken Collection of American Fiddle Tunes (2011),
Lamancusa's The Gettysburg Collection of Old Time Fiddle Tunes (2021) and
Silberberg's Tunes I Learned at Tractor Tavern (2002).
It was recorded by J.P. and Annadeene Fraley on Wild Rose of the Mountain (1973).
