You can't get much simpler than this tune. We found out that you can sing just about any three syllable phrase to this tune. Back in 1967 when the Bonnie and Clyde movie came out Flatt and Scruggs played the music ("Foggy Mountain Breakdown"). Whenever our band would play, someone would always ask for "that Bonnie and Clyde music". We got tired of explaining that it was bluegrass and we were an old-time music group so one night when someone asked, we launched into "Flop Eared Mule" and sang       Bonnie and Clyde,       Bonnie and Clyde,       Bonnie and Bonnie and Bonnie and Clyde. We got a laugh and a tradition was started. I think Dan Estersohn introduced us to this tune.
