"Green River March" is an American reel in D Major. The parts are played AABB.
This is an archaic-sounding tune from the playing of fiddler Uncle Jimmy McCarroll of
the Roane County Ramblers. McCarroll was born in 1892, in Wheat, Anderson County,
Tennessee and was still playing in the 1970's.
This version was transcribed from the playing of Charlie Acuff of Union County, Tenn.
by John Hartford.
It was printed in Stephen F. Davis's Devil's Box, vol. 23, No. 3 (Fall 1989).
