McCarroll was born in 1892, in Wheat, Anderson County,<br> Tennessee and was still playing in the 1970's.<br> This version was transcribed from the playing of Charlie Acuff of Union County, Tenn.<br> by John Hartford.<br> It was printed in Stephen F. Davis's Devil's Box, vol. 23, No. 3 (Fall 1989).<br>
