"Henry Ford's Waltz" was collected from Henry Reed by Alan Jabbour at the
Reed family home in Glen Lyn, Giles County, Virginia on June 18, 1966.
Henry Reed did not have a name for the tune.
Reed said that he learned this tune from Henry Ford's string band.
Henry Ford's Orchestra did make some records in the 1920s, but the library of Congress
has not been able to locate the source for this tune.
Henry Reed's recording is available at https://www.loc.gov/item/afcreed000090/ where it is
titled "Waltz in C".
I have been unable to locate a transcription in either standard or ABC notation.
It was recorded by Alan Jabbour and Ken Perlman on Southern Summits. Henry Reed played the
parts ABC. My transcription is from Jabbour and Perlman where they played the parts AABBCC.
The parts are each 16 measures long.
