"The Hillside (2)" is an American quadrille in 6/8 time and A Dorian.
The parts are played AB.
It is a variation of "The Hillside (1)". Samuel Bayard (1981) identifies this as a
member of a huge proto-tune group which includes "The Oyster Wives Rant", "The Haughs o'
Cromdale", "Wate You How the Play Began", "Welcome Home" and "Sweet Killaloe" among others.
It was collected from John Kubina, (near) Davistown, Pennsylvania, September 3, 1943 by
Samuel Bayard.
It was printed in Bayard's Hill Country Tunes (1944) (appears as "Quadrille").
