"Hobart's Transformation" is an American old-time breakdown in A Dorian. The parts are
played AABB.
This is a hybrid tune. The first part is melodic material from the
"Salt River"/
"Salt Creek" family of tunes. The second part is similar to parts of Henry Reed's
"Kitchen Girl".
It was printed in Brody's Fiddler's Fakebook (1983) and
Spandaro's 10 Cents a Dance (1980).
It was recorded by Fennigs All Stars on The Hammered Dulcimer Strikes Again (1977).
