"The Home Town Band", also known as "The Old Town Band" or "The Centennial" is an American march<br> in 2/4 time and G major. The parts are played AABB.<br> It is known exclusively in southwestern Pa.<br> Samuel Bayard collected it there and says that it was universally known to<br> fifers and some fiddlers. He collected six versions of it but was not able to trace it back to<br> British Isles antecedents.<br> Bayard's version A was collected from Hiram Horner, a fifer from Westmoreland and Fayette<br> Counties, Pa. in 1944.<br> It was printed in Bayard's Dance to the Fiddle (1981).<br>
