"I'm gonna have My Mustache Blacked" is an old-time schottische or polka
in cut time and D Major. The parts are played AB.
The tune was in the repertoire of Taylor (1892–1979) and Stella Kimble of
Laurel Fork, Virginia.
The banjo tablature is by John Letscher who got it from the Canote Brothers
and the Gettysburg Jam.
It was printed in Milliner & Koken's Milliner-Koken Collection of American
Fiddle Tunes (2011) and
Lamancusa's The Gettysburg Collection of Old-Time Fiddle Tunes (2021).
It was recorded by Taylor & Ivery Kimble (1973) (Field recording by Tom
Carter and Blanton Owen) and New Victory Band on One More Dance and Then (1978).
