"Irish Washerwoman Schottische" is an American schottische in C Major. The parts<br> are played AA'BB'. The tune uses motifs from "Military Schottische". It was<br> collected in Indiana.<br> The source for this version is Donald Smalley (1930's) who was a fiddler from<br> northern Indiana, who learned his tunes from his father, also a fiddler. Smalley<br> was also a professor of English at Indiana and Northwestern Universities.<br> This tune bears no resemblance to "The Irish Washerwoman" double jig.<br> It was printed in Bayard's Dance to the Fiddle (1981).<br>
