"The Mahoning Reel", also known as "The Mahoning Schottische"<br> is an American reel or schottische in C Major. USA, southwestern Pa.<br> The parts are played AA'BB'.<br> Bayard (1981) was not able to trace the tune, but thought it had<br> "all the earmarks of a schottische".<br> There are Mahoning Townships in Armstrong, Carbon, Lawrence and<br> Montour Counties in Pennsylvania. There are also North, East,<br> South and West Mahoning Townships in Indiana County in Pennsylvania.<br> Bayard collected this from eight southwestern Pennsylvania fiddlers.<br> It was printed in Bayard's Dance to the Fiddle (1981).<br>
