"Mississippi Snagboat" is an American reel in D Major.
A snagboat is a river boat, resembling a barge with superstructure for
crew accommodations and deck-mounted cranes and hoists for removing snags
and other obstructions from rivers and other shallow waterways.
During the American Civil War, when much of the naval fighting was done
on rivers and their tributaries, numerous snagboats were in operation.
The banjo tablature is by John Letscher who says he got it from Vernon Spencer
of Kansas and the Canote Brothers.
It was recorded by Tricia Spencer and Howard Rains on The Spotted Pony
and other tunes from the midwest corridor (2016).
