"Nancy's got a Pretty Dress on" is an American reel in cut time and D Major.
The parts are played AAB.
This 'crooked' (one measure in each part is rhythmically irregular) tune was recorded by
collector Alan Lomax in 1959 from the playing of Ozarks fiddler Absolum (Absie)
Morrison (1876-1964) of Landis, Searcy County, Arkansas.
"Blue Mule" or "Old Blue Mule" is a related melody.
It was recorded by Absie Morrison on Folk Songs from the Ozarks (1968) and
Absie Morrison on Southern Journey, vol. 7: Ozark Frontier (1997).
