"The Old Cow Crossed the Road", also known as "Cow Cross' the Road", "Old Cow Crossing the<br> Road/The Old Cow She Crossed the Road" or "Pop Weir Tune" is an American Polka in 4/4 time<br> and D Major (A part) and G Major (B part). The parts are played ABB.<br> Bayard (1981) identifies it as a tune reworked for the fiddle and probably taken from a<br> fairly recent song tune. The tune is quite close to Mt. Airy, N.C., fiddler Bert Edward's<br> "The Old Cow She Crossed the Road".<br> It was printed in Bayard's Dance to the Fiddle (1982).<br>
