"Red Fox" is an American reel in cut time and G Major or G Major ('A' part) & D Major<br> ('B' part). The parts are played AABB.<br> Alan Jabbour collected the tune from Henry Reed. He called the tune "unusual<br> and, so far untraceable" and speculated it may have derived from a 6/8 jig,<br> transformed into a duple time tune in the Upland South.<br> The banjo tablature is by John Letscher who plays the A and B parts reversed.<br> It was printed in Krassen's Appalachian Fiddle (1973) and<br> Clawhammer Banjo (1974).<br> It was recorded by<br> The Hollow Rock String Band on The Hollow Rock String Band (1974) and<br> Tom Bledsoe & Rich Kirby on Hits From Home (1982).<br>
