"Reel de Montréal", also known as "Reel de Sherbrooke", "Reel de Vaudreuil",<br> "Set de Vaudreuil 3ème partie" or "Sherbrooke Reel" is a French-Canadian and<br> New England reel in cut time and G Major ('A' part) and D Major ('B' part).<br> The parts are played AABB (Miller & Perron) or AA’BB’ (Songer).<br> The British hornpipe "Navvy on the Line", attributed to early 19th century<br> Tyneside fiddler James Hill, is cognate in the first strain, as is "London Hornpipe".<br> It was printed in Miller & Perron's New England Fiddlers Repertoire (1983),<br> Page's Ralph Page Book of Contras (1969) and<br> Songer's Portland Collection (1997).<br> It was recorded by Heri Lacroix (1928),<br> Jospeh Allard (1930) (as "Set de Vaudreuil 3ème partie", part of a suite of country<br> dances, with figures voiced by a caller on the recording),<br> Jean Carignan,<br> J.O. LaMadeleine (1937) (as "Reel de Vaudreuil"),<br> Gaston Dufresne (1945) (as "Reel de Sherbrooke"),<br> Yankee Ingenuity on Kitchen Junket (1977),<br> Northern Spy on Choose Your Partners!: Contra Dance & Square Dance Music of<br> New Hampshire” (1999).<br>
