"Roses in the Morning" is an American reel in cut time and G Major. The parts are played ABB.
It comes from the playing of fiddler Clyde Davenport (1921 - 2020) who was born in Blue Hole Hollow, near Mt. Pisgah on the Cumberland Plateau in south-central Kentucky, not far from the border with Tennessee. He was a recipient of a 1992 National Heritage Fellowship awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts.
It was printed in Phillips' Traditional American Fiddle Tunes, vol. 1 (1994).
It was recorded by Ron Mullinnex on Taking Yesterday Along and Clyde Davenport on Clydeoscope (1986).
