"Shoehammer", also known as "Big Fat Gal's Good I Know, but a Little Fat Gal's Better O!" or "Paddy got Drunk on Fish and Potatoes" is an American jig in 6/8 time and G Major. The parts are played AB. It is apparently an American version of an Irish jig, sourced locally in southwestern Pennsylvania to "old Irish fiddler Tommy Hare". It was collected from Irvin Yaugher in Fayette County, Pa. in 1946 and Wellington Funk in Greene County, Pa.in the 1930's by Samuel Bayard. It was printed in Bayard's Dance to the Fiddle (1981).
