"Standard Club Quadrille" is an American square dance in G and D major.<br> Benjamin Lovett, a New England dancing master, was hired by Henry Ford and<br> relocated from Massachusetts to Michigan. He recorded numerous albums with<br> the Henry Ford Orchestra, as well as authoring Good Morning, Ford's country<br> dance book.<br> Paul Gifford notes: "'Standard Club Quadrille' came from Jasper Bisbee, a<br> fiddler from Paris, Michigan (1843-1935) who recorded for Edison".<br> The record accompanying Good Morning for this tune was recorded by Lovett in<br> 1943. The book gives two tunes titled "Standard Club Quadrille": one subtitled<br> "Figure I" and one subtitled "Figure II". This is the "Figure II" tune.<br> This tune uses the cotillion form, modulating from G to D and back to G<br> in 6/8 time.<br> Bayard refers to this tune in his notes to "Allegheny County" in Dance to the<br> Fiddle.<br> It was printed in Lovett's Good Morning (1943).<br>
