"Sweet Bundy" is an American reel in cut time and D Major. The parts are played AABB'.
According to Paul Tyler, who recorded Dickey several times in the latter 1980's, source Lotus Dickey had this tune from his brother, Cyprien, who learned it "from a fellow by the name of Lee Trinkle, down around Rego, Indiana, in Orange County". The source for the notated version was fiddler Lotus Dickey (1911-1989), from Orange County, southern Indiana [Phillips]. It was printed in Phillips' Traditional American Fiddle Tunes, vol. 1 (1994) and Lamancusa's The Gettysburg Collection of Old-Time Fiddle Tunes (2021). It was recorded by Lotus Dickey on Fiddle Tunes from Orange County, Indiana, Vol. 1 (1989) and Down the Pike and other Fiddle Tunes from Orange County, Indiana, Lynn "Chirps" Smith on Midwest Harvest (1994) and Orpheus Supertones on Bound To Have A Little Fun! (2004). |
