"Walking that Pretty Girl Home" is an American reel in cut time in G Major.
The parts are played AABB.
The source for the tune is the Meadow Creek Grayson County, southwest
Virginia fiddler Luther Davis (1887-1986). Davis listed as one of his influences
Grayson County fiddler Greenberry Leonard (1810-1892), who died when Davis was a
child but whose style and repertory influenced a generation of Galax area fiddlers.
The banjo tab is by John Letscher.
It was recorded by Alice Gerard, Gail Gillespie & Sharon Sandomirsky on The Road to
Agate Hill (2006) and
Mike Seegar & Paul Brown on Way Down in North Carolina (1996).
